Description and Responsibilities
The Senior Materials Manager will be located in Beloit. They will work under the direction of the VP’s of Operations (Dairy & Culinary, Dry Beverage and Meat Systems) and the Directors of Supply Chain to help meet corporate, business unit, and department objectives and goals. Direct reporting relationship will be to Director, Supply Chain Dairy & Culinary.
The Senior Materials Manager is responsible for driving efficiencies for Kerry’s dry blending technology by working with the Material Managers at each plant and maintaining a balanced schedule that considers both product costs and plant utilization across the Kerry network.
They also support the business by preparing, analyzing, monitoring and reporting on performance metrics. Ensuring data accuracy and developing tools to effectively communicate information are keys to the position. The individual must have the ability to multitask, analyze, troubleshoot, make recommendations, and implement solutions within the business and across multiple business units.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Support Business Objectives
Develop a Capacity plan for work centers under their responsibility
Managing the capacity plan and work with materials managers to balance asset utilization across multiple work centers and sites
Work with material manager /plant schedulers to utilize the balanced plan to re-prioritize the production
Drive proper maintenance of system parameters and information feeding into the capacity model by working with the material managers.
Collaborate with all team members to share knowledge
For example, new business opportunities
Maintain a rolling capacity plan for 9-12 months of production
Promote change in a positive manner
Establish and lead the S&OP process meetings for their technology
Assign proper work center and routing to new items by working with commercialization
Work with plant operations teams to meet inventory targets while maintaining customer service levels
Actively participate in technical, business, and professional development
Support acquisition/integration projects within their technology
Support process and product optimizations
Present long term capacity plan to VP’s of Operations and Director of Supply Chain monthly
Aid in the development and monitoring of performance metrics
Produce capacity reports monthly and work with material managers to review
Produce inventory reports weekly and review any Inventory Adjustments / Excesses / Shortages with material managers
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university in Accounting, Applied Economics, Finance, Quantitative Business Analysis, Supply Chain, Business Operations Management or related field of study. Advanced analytical, planning and problem-solving abilities.
Minimum four years-experience in supply chain or operations functions
Inquisitive nature that enjoys problem-solving and identifying business improvements.
Must be detail oriented and able to work in a fast moving, demanding environment.
Ability and willingness to grow and develop beyond current position.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to build strong interpersonal relationships at all levels of the organization.
Ability to work across matrix reporting relationships to build consensus plans and recommendations for management of equipment and throughput capacity.
Supervisory experience or hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is preferred.
