Description and Responsibilities

The QA technician is key to providing support to the quality department and overall operations.

  • Perform sensory, physical, chemical, and / or instrumental evaluation of raw material, in process, or finished products following SOP and specifications.

  • Expedite evaluation process and final disposition and provide information to production.

  • Develop and maintain raw material and finished product specifications.

  • Trouble shoots quality problems in production.

  • Participate in the development of special processes to improve quality.

  • Generate data for Certificates of analysis.

  • Participate in test panels.

  • Maintain laboratory data, files, supplies, and calibrate equipment on a regular schedule as well as maintaining databases.

  • Work on the corrective actions of any customer complaints / issues.

  • Follows all quality, safety, and company protocols & procedures.

  • Other duties and Special projects assigned by Manager as needed.

  • Associates Degree in Chemistry or an applied science (preferred but not required)

  • 1-3 years of experience in a laboratory environment or in school

  • Analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Take initiative and proactive attitude.

  • Multi tasking is critical to this position.

  • The ability to speak read and write clearly in English.

  • Ability to use and maintain lab equipment and computer skills.

  • Must be able to be exposed to and perform sensory evaluation on a variety of flavor and fragrance products, essential oils and raw materials.

  • Other duties as needed and assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

  • QC Laboratory in large warehouse. Most of the time standing, working at bench.
