Description and Responsibilities
The hours for this position are 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m. Monday - Friday. There is a rotation schedule for the Lab techs and you will be required to work one weekend every 4- 6 weeks. (Saturday and Sunday from 3:00 pm -1:00 a.m. - Overtime pay.)
Perform sensory, physical, chemical, and / or instrumental evaluation of raw material, in process, or finished products following SOP and specifications.
Expedite evaluation process and final disposition and provide information to production.
Develop and maintain raw material and finished product specifications.
Trouble shoots quality problems in production.
Participate in the development of special processes to improve quality.
Generate data for Certificates of analysis.
Participate in test panels.
Maintain laboratory data, files, supplies, and calibrate equipment on a regular schedule as well as maintaining databases.
Work on the corrective actions of any customer complaints / issues.
Follows all quality, safety, and company protocols & procedures.
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Organic Chemistry and/or Food Science
Knowledge and experience of GC/LC testing
Knowledge and experience in a lab setting running chemistry tests
Food industry experience is highly desirable
Minimum 0-1 years of experience
