Description and Responsibilities

3rd shift (Hours: 11:30p-8am; Sunday -Thursday; occasional overt-time required)

  • Run the food manufacturing room with minimal supervision. Foresee potential bottlenecks before they arise and be able to suggest cause of action to remove bottlenecks.

  • Able to make any necessary adjustments and/or minor maintenance on machinery.

  • Ability to proactively adjust processes to maximize product quality and compliance to schedule.

  • Be able to read, understand, and verify work order instructions, lot dates, FIFO dates, rework usage, and all pallet requirements.

  • Document accurate weight of finished product; perform weight test checks; adjust scale and vibratory table; tare out scale when needed.

  • Monitor all product quality and product safety documentation to ensure proper procedures are followed.

  • Read and complete continuous improvement charts, graphs, and communication board.

  • Complete pre-operation form after every product change or wash.

  • Read production schedule to determine production needs/goals.

  • Document number of units, size, weight, and type of products made, ingredients used, and amount of rework produced or reused; finalizes work order.

  • Properly print and tag all rework and pallets using the lot coding system.

  • Complete necessary quality checks and sampling requirements for quality lab testing and make any necessary adjustments to product based on feedback.

  • Train production worker employees in all aspects of paperwork, labels, pallet tags, and other areas of responsibility within the production line.

  • Ensure all HACCP documentation and checks are performed as prescribed. Which can include but is not limited to; hourly metal detection tests, documentation for metal rings, redetection process and procedures, etc.

  • Perform and assign general housekeeping and sanitation responsibilities of the line, on a daily basis following GMPs. Also, communicate specific housekeeping/sanitation duties to all crew members to keep area clean at all times.

  • Assist with detailed cleaning activities in room as well as other areas of plant on a regular basis.

  • Complete daily 5S audits/checklist and alerts Supervisor to any deficiencies.

  • Must be able to trace product lines and shoot pigs.

  • Deliver a clean, well-ordered room and ensures that all lines have a smooth transition to oncoming shift.

  • Perform all other related duties as required.


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to read, write and interpret documents and write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly and/or move up to 100 pounds and frequently

  • Lift or move up to 50 pounds repeatedly. The employee must frequently bend, twist, and reach and stand for long lengths of time.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to extreme heat. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
