Description and Responsibilities

JOB TITLE: Wet Side Extra Operator LOCATION: Rothschild

REPORTS TO: Plant Supervisor/Plant Superintendent CLASSIFICATION: Bracket II (+0.75) (also + 0.50 with 2.5 year agreement)


This position is responsible to efficiently run/fill in on the wet side of the plant.

Responsible for the efficient operation and monitoring of the Intake, Evap/Refiner/Boiler, Dissolve, Hicon 1/Ion Exchange, Hicon 2, WWTP and Warehouse.

Adjusts machines as needed to ensure product uniformity, maximum machine rates and standards through out the production run.

Takes appropriate action whenever the raw material or finished product does not meet the Foremost Farms standard for color, texture, smell or foreign material.

Assisting the warehouse with production, scale checks, and taking and submitting samples to the Lab. per specified frequencies.

Performs assigned data entry, record keeping and process monitoring functions according to established procedures in an accurate and timely manner.

Initiates the CIP process on dryer feed tanks, circuits and machines - hand cleans valves, tubs, jumpers and related equipment per Foremost Farms USA Master Sanitation Schedules, SQF, Sop`s and Regulatory requirements Continuously works to maximize On Product hours and to minimize the off Product hours. Within a reasonable period, must develop a level of competency that supports trouble shooting equipment problems, and maximize equipment performances. During breakdowns works directly with Maintenance personnel to fix equipment in a timely manner.

Reports and records all deviations from specified operating parameters and “critical control points,” as established by HACCP and Foremost Farms procedures.

Develops and maintains positive relationships with co-workers. When necessary, communicate with plant visitors or guests in a professional, helpful, timely manner to project a positive image of Foremost Farms USA and our products.

Complying with all safety and work rules and regulations, and departmental housekeeping standards. Regular and punctual attendance and physical presence in the workplace.

Timely and accurate completion of duties. Other duties may be assigned by supervisor Complete special projects as assigned

State certification is required for operation of the HTST.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as dictated letters or memoranda, invoices, company policies and various documentation, paying particular attention to grammar. Ability to process routine reports and correspondences. Ability to communicate effectively with employees.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Skills & Abilities: Requires organizational and planning skills. Requires the ability to perform simple data entry functions on network computers and the occasional operation of basic office equipment (calculator, FAX machine, copier etc) Must be able to operate a forklift safely and efficiently.

Protective Equipment – This position may need personal protective equipment that is appropriate for the job being performed, such as hearing protection, food safety clothing and other.
