Description and Responsibilities
The Industrial Electrican position is located at our Affton, MO, plant, which is a part of our Sweet and Cereal division. This site has around 150 employees. A list of day to day responsibilities and duties are below.
The position of the Industrial Electrician is to provide electrical and programming support to the operations of the facility. This will directly include identifying, managing and implementing projects that support electrical and process control troubleshooting, installation, and continuous improvement. Key aspects of this position will require drafting and designing automated programs to control processing operations, planning and engineering electrical installations, and creating support drawings (AutoCAD) to plan and engineer projects. The position will support through routine and non-routine preventive maintenance as identified through inspections and preventive maintenance program.
Engineer, troubleshoot, repair, or install electrical projects to support plant operations
Run Electrical Supply and Controls wiring throughout facility for projects or work orders.
Design, troubleshoot, create process programs to support the automation of the facility
Create/update plant drawings through AutoCAD to support facility design
Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers, AC/DC motors and controls.
Ability to write PLC programs from conceptual design through operation preferred.
Completing assigned responsibilities through a work order maintenance program.
Contribute to team projects and committees including safety, capital, quality and continuous improvement
Perform routine and non-routine preventive maintenance as needed or identified
Converse with equipment operators to identify current or potential equipment maintenance requirements
Support production, quality, warehouse, sanitation, and administrative staff with projects
Record, document, and complete all supporting maintenance documents per requirements
Install, set up and support capital and continuous improvement projects as identified
General knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, compressor, and vacuum systems.
Adhere to all maintenance programs with regards to safety
Follow all programs that require additional documentation or permits such as:
Confined Space, Hot work, Lock out/tag out
Work with vendors and contractors as necessary to perform installation and maintenance work
3+ years as a maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing environment, preferable from the Beverage, Food, or Pharmaceutical industry
3+ years of experience PLC programming and control system automation preferred
3+ years of experience with Industrial Electrician experience (Electrician License Preferred)
Strong background and knowledge in mechanical, pneumatics, and general building repair
Knowledge of sanitary design for processing and packaging for the food industry
Knowledge of mixing, processing and packaging systems
Knowledge of utility use and regulations for water, steam, electrical, etc…
Knowledgeable in GMP and HACCP programs
Experienced computer skills (Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD)
Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork mentality
Performs other duties as assigned
