Description and Responsibilities

  • Engineer, troubleshoot, repair, or install electrical projects to support plant operations

  • Design, troubleshoot, create process programs to support the automation of the facility

  • Create/update plant drawings through AutoCAD, Visio and Smart Draw to support facility design

  • Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers, AC/DC motors and controls.

  • Ability to write PLC programs from conceptual design through operation

  • Completing assigned responsibilities through a work order maintenance program

  • Contribute to team projects and committees including safety, capital, quality and continuous improvement

  • Set up and change over equipment to achieve maximum efficiency during production

  • Perform routine and non-routine preventive maintenance as needed or identified

  • Converse with equipment operators to identify current or potential equipment maintenance requirements

  • Support production, quality, warehouse, sanitation, and administrative staff with projects

  • Record, document, and complete all supporting maintenance documents per requirements

  • Install, set up and support capital and continuous improvement projects as identified

  • General knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, compressor, and vacuum systems.

  • Adhere to all maintenance programs with regards to safety

  • Follow all programs that require additional documentation or permits such as:

  • Confined Space, Hot work, Lock out/tag out

  • Set-up and maintenance of the following high speed production equipment

  • Rotary and Inline filling, capping and labeling equipment for beverage

  • Container unscrambling and depalletizing equipment

  • Labeling equipment (Pressure sensitive, thermal transfer and inkjet systems)

  • Automatic case packers and case erectors

  • Case coding and marking systems

  • Other equipment as identified

  • Work with vendors and contractors as necessary to perform installation and maintenance work


  • 3+ years as a maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing environment, preferable from the Beverage, Food, or Pharmaceutical industry

  • 3+ years of experience PLC programming and control system automation

  • 3+ years of experience with Industrial Electrician experience (Electrician License Preferred)

  • Strong background and knowledge in mechanical, pneumatics, and general building repair

  • Knowledge of sanitary design for processing and packaging for the food industry

  • Knowledge of liquid mixing, pasteurization and packaging systems

  • Knowledge of utility use and regulations for water, steam, electrical, etc…

  • Knowledgeable in GMP and HACCP programs

  • Experienced computer skills (Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD, Visio, Smart Draw)

  • Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork mentality

  • Performs other duties as assign
