Description and Responsibilities

  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches along with electrical testing devices.

  • Perform routine maintenance to ensure machines run smoothly and building systems operate efficiently.

  • Order parts and supplies

  • Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical components, pipe systems, machinery or equipment.

  • Inspect drives, motors and belts. Check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions following PM schedule.

  • Replace or repair defective equipment parts

  • Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears or other parts of machines.

  • Inspect, operate or test equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.

  • Plan and layout repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals or schematic drawings.

  • Operate cutting torches, plasma cutters, or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.

  • Paint or repair doors, floors, walls or other parts of building structures.

  • Record type and costs of maintenance repair work.

  • Estimate cost repairs.

  • Fabricate transitions, platforms, and catwalks for various pieces of equipment.

  • Observe and test the operation of machinery in order to diagnose malfunctions using voltmeters and other testing devices.

Qualifications

Education:

This position requires a high school diploma. Technical Schooling preferred associated with welding, fabrication or electrical.
